Buddy System MIA is a volunteer placement program to assist the at-risk demographic, such as the elderly or immunocompromised, receive their groceries during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re making matches based on location to enable neighbors to help neighbors. Once a volunteer is placed with a buddy, they are asked to keep in touch with them and assist them in running errands to limit their exposure to COVID-19. Our short term goal is to help limit exposure for people in the at-risk demographic. Our long term goal is to create a culture of community. We hope that the buddy relationships being built during this time will continue to flourish long after the corona virus scare ends.
